Everything a modern screen recorder online should do — with nothing you don't want: no watermark, no install, no account, no upload.
Your recordings are clean. No logos, no intro cards, no “made with” overlays — free forever.
No 5- or 10-minute caps. Record full meetings, lessons and walkthroughs; the only limit is your device memory.
Capture your narration and the sound from a tab or your computer in one combined audio track using the Web Audio API.
Record your entire display, a single application window, or just one browser tab for a distraction-free capture.
Choose 720p or Full HD 1080p at 30 or 60 frames per second — smooth enough for gameplay, demos and tutorials.
Encoding happens inside your browser with MediaRecorder. Nothing is sent to a server — there isn't one.
ScreenRecorder uses the browser's built-in Screen Capture API, so you can record screen free without installing any software. Here's the whole process:
Choose Entire Screen, Window or Browser Tab. Switch microphone and system audio on or off, and choose 720p or 1080p at 30 or 60 FPS.
Your browser shows a share dialog. Select the screen, window or tab, and tick “Share audio” if you want system sound. A short countdown starts the capture.
The glowing REC badge and timer show the recording is live. Pause any time, then click “Stop Recording” or your browser's “Stop sharing” button.
Watch your video instantly in the built-in player, rename it, and download the WebM file. Done — no watermark, no upload.
Choosing “Browser Tab” captures only that tab's picture and sound, so notifications and other apps stay out of your video. Tab audio is supported in Chrome, Edge, Opera and Brave on every operating system.
Use 1080p at 30 FPS for tutorials, slides and documents — it keeps text sharp and files small. Switch to 60 FPS for gameplay, animations and fast scrolling. 720p is ideal for long recordings and quick sharing.
If you record system audio and your microphone at the same time, wear headphones. Otherwise your mic can pick up the speaker sound a second time.
WebM plays in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and VLC, and uploads directly to YouTube, Google Drive and most video platforms. If your browser supports it, you can also choose MP4 in the format menu.
Desktop Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave and Firefox fully support screen recording. Safari 13+ on macOS can record but without system audio. Most mobile browsers do not allow screen capture.
Open ScreenRecorder in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or another modern desktop browser, choose your capture source and audio options, click Start Recording, and pick the screen, window or tab to share. When you stop, the video plays instantly and can be downloaded. Nothing is installed and no account is needed.
No. ScreenRecorder never adds a watermark, logo or intro to your video, and there is no time limit. The file you download is exactly what your browser recorded.
Turn on both Microphone audio and System / tab audio before you start. In the share dialog, tick “Share tab audio” or “Share system audio”. ScreenRecorder mixes both sources into a single audio track with the Web Audio API. Tab audio works in Chromium browsers on all systems; full system audio for an entire screen is available in Chrome and Edge on Windows and ChromeOS.
No. Video and audio are captured and encoded locally with the browser's MediaRecorder API. Your recording stays in your device's memory until you download it, and it is discarded when you close the page.
Recordings are saved as WebM (VP9 or VP8 video with Opus audio), which plays in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, VLC and uploads directly to YouTube. Browsers that support it can also save MP4.
There is no time limit. Very long recordings are only limited by your device's available memory, since the video is held in the browser until you download it.
Most mobile browsers do not support the Screen Capture API, so ScreenRecorder works best on desktop and laptop computers. On phones, use the operating system's built-in screen recorder.
